Christmas at Dad's

We had our Christmas at Dad's this past weekend and Nevyn met Santa! She wasn't sure what to think about him but didn't have a extreme meltdown so I figure its a win. She was a great little helper handing out all the gifts and picking up the wrapping paper off the floor. I had to snap a picture of her knocked out after all the fun!

Halloween

The weather didn't cooperate this year so we stayed in and Nevyn helped me hand out candy. She started off a bit bashful but warmed up and started waving bye after awhile. Our neighborhood had a good turn out and it was fun to make memories with my little boo boo.

Vegas

I recently traveled to Vegas for a work conference and took the opportunity to have a kid free few days with Robert. Niether of us had ever been to Vegas so we did the tourist buses along the strip and old town Vegas. We stayed at Wynn Las Vegas which was fabulous but I prefer old Vegas like Circus Circus - their prices on food/drink were much more affordable. We had a great time and thank you to mom for watching Nevyn while we were gone!

4th of July

Over the 4th of July we traveled to Des Moines for a few days. We went to my favorite sushi restaurant, did some retail therapy, took Nevyn to a local park, and enjoyed a few hours on the house boat. Here are a few snap shots our photographer took - I told Liz she should charge us by the hour!

Pitfalls of being homeowners

Mother nature has not been on our side lately with all the rain, thunderstorms and tornados in our area. As a result, our basement laundry room wall decided it could no longer hold the weight and collapsed. Tuesday was a bad day! We got a contractor to start work immediately and by Wednesday night we had a new wall constructed. Our washer/dryer/sink were pushed to the side and the washer and sink plumbing broke so more repairs there. As usual, the insurance company seemed to be in no hurry to have an adjuster come to the house even when we told them it was an emergency. Here are a few pictures I took of the damage. Construction should be done today/tomorrow and I'm looking forward to it all being done.

belated Easter

Mom visited this weekend and brought our Easter baskets. Thank you again Mom!! Nevyn also took a nice tumble in the driveway and scraped up her lip - poor thing.
